Trying to make it look like Christmas is always a challenge with the cactus and absence of snow. We do very little in the way of decorating, but Austin and Jenny have their favorite things and do a great job of making it look beautiful!
When it was time to get the tree we headed off to Home Depot around the corner. This year I made myself some hot chocolate to take along just to make it feel a little more festive. We beat a record this year on how quickly all four of us could agree on one! I think we picked it out and made it home in twenty minutes.
The kids have their favorites, like the Advent book, the story and manger scene of "What God Wants for Christmas", a Santa Claus head, that sings Jingle Bells in Greek (we got it from a friend who lives in Greece), Grandma Dot's ceramic tree and a few other sentimental things we place around the house.
This year I am loving the white lights on the cross in our front yard. " A Savior has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord!" Luke 2:11..."He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world." 1 John 2:2...
